Something that has come to my apparent attention is a little wee thing that can TOTALLY get in the way of you manifesting your desires. And that one little thing is... Worthiness.
A story.
Long ago there was a young girl who dreamed of being a star in Hollywood.
Every night before she went to sleep she would gaze upon her idols posterized all over her wall. She would envision herself working alongside her heros and heroines and earning herself her very own 'star'.
Years passed and the girl worked hungrily towards her dream. Classes here, courses there and workshops in-between.
But, although the girl enjoyed herself, she felt like something was missing.
She had taken all the advice and guidance of her teachers and peers and applied them. She had done everything 'right' but still it seemed like fortune was not in her favor.
Overtime the girl's heart grew heavy. What was once a bright and blistering dream was feeling more and more like an agonizing burden each day.
Finally in the depth of her despair and anger she screamed out to the gods, "I give up! I see I'm not worthy in your eyes and so be it!"
In that moment the wind blew harder, the sky turned greyer than a wolfs coat and suddenly a bolt of lightening hit the girl to where she fell unconscious.
In her slumber the girl felt a presence like nothing she'd ever felt before. This presence was powerful beyond measure.
Suddenly through the incredible presence a deep loving voice spoke;
"You have always been worthy in our eyes, we have helped you along wherever you would let us. But as you walked further and further away from your own heart by listening to others to show you where to go, you forgot about that girl in her room envisioning herself among the stars. It is you who believes she is not worthy of her own desire."
The girl awoke, it was night and above her all she could see were billions of twinkling stars. In the darkness she smiled to herself for she finally knew where to find the light.
"I am the star."

You and your desires are worthy.
I know you have your big, bright and beautiful desires and I know you have been working toward them diligently.
Don't give up hope because they're not here yet.
Don't choose to believe you don't deserve them.
You ARE worthy of your dreams, wishes and desires. The fact that you have materialized them in your mind means that they are yours.
You have dreamed of them therefore they are possible.
The power of choosing YOU first.
Last week, my gorgeous friend Jacquie sent me the link to a video of a TED talk by Brene Brown on the power of vulnerability. But in that talk Brene spoke a lot about worthiness.
She said that the difference between people who have a strong sense of worthiness and who didn't was that the people who did feel worthy chose to be kind to themselves FIRST and then to others.
Then my girl Aditi wrote a post about having come back from Louise Hay's 'I Can Do It' conference and totally grasping the idea of 'filling up yourself first' to be able to go out and do good in the world - in this case manifest our desires.
THEN my Mother sat me down to watch this weeks episode of Super Soul Sunday where Oprah was interviewing Panache Desai about changing your energy to change your life and what I realized was that these three different people were saying the exact same thing.
Fill yourself up first.
If you're feeling unworthy of what you truly want, you're empty on the self lovin'.

How do you start filling yourself up so that you feel worthy?
Easy.
- Meditation + Prayer
- Green Smoothies
- Nature Walks
- Reading
- Dancing
- Singing
- Gratitude (this one's a biggie!)
- Affirmations
- Creating
- Visualization
- Talking to Spirit
- Pampering Yourself
- Relaxing
- Saying 'I Love You'.
- Pleasure
- Running
- Exercising
- ANYTHING THAT MAKES YOU FEEL GOOD!!!
Don't you see, doing things that make you feel good that you want to do (not what others, including your ego, tell you) makes your heart happy. And when your heart is happy, you feel good - worthy - and when you feel worthy you allow your desires to find their way to you, rapidly.
P.S - Like my story? I haven't written a short story in YEARS! :D

This was such a great story Elise. It gave me chills as I was reading it! I'm going to use that last line to remember my own worthiness, "I am the star." love it! Thank you!
